As noted in 2016, it remains important that builders and raters coordinate to register homes as soon as possible after construction starts. This critical step allows the RNC program to forecast a pipeline of projects and rebates payable. When homes are registered early, the risk of funding delays decreases drastically.
Homes must be submitted for incentive payment within six months of completion. Delays between completion and final submission raise considerable red flags when the program is evaluated for regulatory purposes. Coordination between builders and raters to minimize these delays will ultimately help the program's longevity into and beyond the next code cycle (2019).
